Ballot by Mail

To be eligible to vote early by mail-in ballot, you must:

  • be 65 years or older;

  • be disabled;

  • be out of the county on Election Day and during the period for Early Voting by personal appearance; or

  • be confined in jail, but otherwise eligible.

Your application must be received by the Early Voting clerk of the local entity conducting the election not later than the 11th day before Election Day, which was Tuesday, April 25.

Your marked ballot must be received by the county elections office by 7 p.m. on May 6 unless you’re mailing it from out of the United States.

  • Recently moved to NISD? Update your address on file with your county Elections Office.

  • Recently turned 18? You can vote in this election if you registered by April 6, 2023.

  • Recently became a US citizen? You can vote in this election if you registered by April 6, 2023.

  • Never voted but want to vote in the future? Have your voice heard!

Applications are also available at most post offices, Department of Public Safety locations, and many NISD schools. In order to vote in the May 6, 2023 bond election, you must have been a registered voter with an NISD address by April 6, 2023.
